Needles: U.S. 3 circular 16” and one extra U.S. 3 straight needle
Gauge: 26 stitches and 38 rows = 4”

Work eyelet round as follows: *Knit 8, yo, K2tog, repeat from * to end of round. Work in stockinette stitch for 10 more inches. Purl 1 round, then cast on 20 stitches onto right hand needle. You will now work back and forth on these 20 stitches, using one straight needle and one side of the circular needle. Row 1: K19, K2tog, turn Row 2: (K2tog, yo) 9 times, end K2. Repeat last two rows until all stitches from the circular needle are used up. Cast off remaining 20 stitches. Sew side seam. Make a twisted tassel (see glossary) and thread through eyelets.
Glossary:
Garter stitch in the round: alternate purling one round, then knitting one round.
yo: yarn over
Stockinette stitch in the round: Knit every round
K2tog: Knit two stitches together as one.
Twisted Tassel: Measure three lengths of yarn approximately 9 feet. Tie all three strands together at each end. With two people facing each other, twist the ends clockwise with a pencil until the yarn is tight. When the yarn begins to kink, one person holds both pencils, while the other holds the middle of the cord and lets the yarn twist. Tie each end to prevent unraveling.
